“Our anger has all this information, it has all this expertise, it has all this experience and we should respect it in ourselves and in other women.” – Soraya Chemaly
This episode is brought to you in collaboration with Fast Mary’s.
Today’s featured interview is with Soraya Chemaly. She is the author of Rage Becomes Her: The Power of Women’s Anger, named a Best Book of 2018 by NPR, Washington Post and others, including some of our favorites Autostraddle, Psychology Today, and Bitch magazine. This book is about the ways that the social construction of emotion, anger in particular, affect women’s personal, professional and political equality.
Chemaly is a prolific writer whose work focuses on the role of gender and identity in culture, education and technology. She is also the director of the Women’s Media Center Speech Project, an initiative devoted to expanding women’s civic and political participation.
